Hawaiian beach - wedding invitation

Hi everyone!

I'm back with my latest invitation design. I have more waiting to be published but I am waiting for more cardstock to finish their boxes/envelopes.
You can buy it here.

I know I say this with all my invites :P but I like this one! Again the box idea is Meda's

This invitation is "born" from a simple "play" with crepe paper. I wanted to experiment with some paper flowers and I found the pattern for these pink ones on Martha Stewart's site. I liked the outcome so I decided to go ahead and create an invitation.
At first I started cutting the pearlized paper for the base but soon I realized that wasn't going to work. So I decided to keep the base simple and add just a piece of silvery pearl to it :).
It has such a beautiful shine and to keep it from being plain and boring the flower and delicate satin ribbon bring a drop of color to it.

Doesn't it remind you of a summery day? Or even better a beach wedding... who doesn't dream of that? :)

Then of course, I made the matching box. And because I didn't want to take anything away from the invitation itself by adding another flower I made simple petals to attach to the box and VOILA!

Indonesia Sayang - wedding invitation with Asian accents

Hi there!

I'm back with another sample of wedding invitation... It has as a theme an indonesian wedding so it's perfectly coordinated with any Asian themed wedding. You can buy it here.
I have to give credit for the box idea (instead of an envelope) to my friend Meda (she has gorgeous invitations so make sure you visit her blog).

I want to come up with "fresh" ideas of wedding invitations... that's why you'll be seeing a lot of invitations inspired by themed weddings on my blog.

This color combo is one of my favourites:

The whole invitation is handmade (including the box and flower).

I guess it can also be considered an "earthy" tones invitation. It would be suitable for any outdoor wedding because of the rustic feeling of the colors and kraft paper and simple string which contrast nicely with the bright orange and green I used.
I also played with textures and shines. As any fashion-conscient person would say: "you have to combine color, texture and shine" :). I guess I've done all of that with this invitation without forgetting the need for "luxury" in a wedding by adding the champagne colored base.
It's definitely not a "plain" invitation! That's why I chose the paisley embossed pattern (which is "fun" and "asian" at the same time).

Which takes me to the nice part: the meaning of its name. I chose "indonesia sayang" after a research on how to say "sweetheart/love" in indonesian... that's how "indonesia sayang" was born! :)

I also found a LOVELY wedding cake model with paisley patterns... isn't it gorgeous?

In conclusion, I think this was a very subjective invite model... Asian weddings are one of my favourites (lots of color and old traditions). Maybe because of my connection with the sour-sweet continet :).

Elegant lilac

Hi there!

Today I want to show you an invitation design made by my sister, Lia. I like the richness of these colors together and the details make this invitation look really elegant.

I was just searching online for the meaning of colors... and here's what I found:

Ivory: elegant, old-world and soft-spoken.
Purple: royalty, challenging, misterious, glamorous, grown-up.
Gold: lavishness, luxury, warmth, tradition.

The rose is handmade and the envelope as well (my sister designed that too). I just love that contrast! Don't you?

Blue cake wedding invitation

Hello!

Here's my second model of wedding invitation.... I love how it turned out because it combines the "non-conventional" with the traditional motifs.
I chose to make it more "fun" without forgetting what the Wedding Day really means: celebration of the purest feelings towards your better half.

I just love the softness of the details given by embossed paper, that's why I chose to keep it simple and let it "talk" for itself.

Details: white half faux-pearls, white sheer ribbon, matching embossed envelope (white).

Froget-me-not wedding invitation

So, here's one of my first wedding invitation designs. You can buy it here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/122523295/handmade-wedding-invite-forget-me-not
Before I start explaining its meaning and creative process, I want to thank my friend Meda (http://handmadebymeda.blogspot.com) for being one of my main inspirations in starting creating wedding invitations. Her designs are stunning! Don't forget to pay her a visit.

As the very recent "Royal Wedding" was so intensely mediatized, I couldn't help not to hear that Kate picked her bouquet flowers according to their meaning. So I was curious what my (long back ordered) pressed flowers mean.

Forget me not is one of my favourite flowers... because it's so small and very full of meaning. It means true love, hope, remembrance, memories.... about everything you want your D day to be :).

This special "forget-me-not" invitation has an embossed background and the pressed flower {yup, this is a REAL forget me not flower} is stuck on a piece of vellum. I used special patterned white paper for the envelope which is also handmade.
